I'm overwhelmed by the amount of support I've received regarding the death of my husband. Vanguard 83. I wish I could just hug each and every one of you out there. I've even been offered financial support to help me out if needed (although I'm doing just fine in that department and can't accept). Van's ashes are home with me where they belong for now and come this summer I'll fill his final wish to make him his own special customized vessel and send him over Niagara Falls in it...as the daredevils he so admired as a young child did before.

The story is clear to me now. Two vehicles in front of Van's truck got into a bout of road rage and one driver tried to cut the other off, spinning both cars out in front of the rig. Van jammed on the breaks and tried to turn off on an exit he was passing to avoid a crash but was going to fast to make the exit and slammed into the center divider, demolishing his front end and leaving him with both internal and external injuries. He only lived a short period in the hospital before passing. Because he was in Manitoba when this happened I couldn't be there to say goodbye.

I'm sorry it took me so long to write this update, and I wish I could respond to each and every note and comment personally but things have just been so busy and hard as of late. Just know for now that I've shed my tears and have even had a few laughs with Van's family over the memories that will last my lifetime. I've even decided to leave my page open as a tribute to him as so many of you have suggested...and who knows...when I'm ready, I may even post some of his early works again. Also, a tip to all drivers out there...road rage CAN kill.

I just want to thank all those concerned about my whereabouts as of late. Trust me when I tell you everything is fine and I'm still safe. Work has kept me busy for a long time now but things are slowing down and I'm hoping to be able to go back to my regular position and hours very soon. Maybe I can FINALLY keep the promises I've been making about getting online more.

Home life has seen a huge change in the last month as Van and I have taken in a room mate in my dear friend Michelle who recently broke things off with her husband. She's hoping to get back out on her own soon but to be honest although it's helped take away my time from DA and being online in general, I've kind of enjoyed the company while Van is on the road. Monday nights my best friend Carrie comes over and we do a "Dancing With The Stars" girls night of dinner and wine.

I'm glad to see my absence hasn't stopped any projects involving the Cat from going forward and I am trying to keep up with posting any pics about me or stories involving me as well as making comments on the original pages. The thing I've missed the most is the friends I've made and played with over the last few years. I raise a glass of wine and toast to friends both old and new and I look forward to spending more time together soon.

So that pretty much wraps up the rundown on me. I'll give Van a big hug when he gets home sometime tonight from all of you and in the meantime I'll keep trying to repost the video's we've made that have dead links...I feel like they're still worth a look at.

Turns out that DA no longer supports the SWF files that Van and I used to upload our animations on. I'm afraid I'm going to have to reload them in Mp4 format. This means better quality videos but for some of you long time fans out there that watch both Van and myself, you may have to sit through some old material. For NEWER watchers that may have never seen these on Vanguard83 's page, I do hope you'll enjoy them but keep in mind that some of the animation is a little rough around the edges as it was made when Van was first learning how to make and post them.
